Dishonesty, Lying & Shame

It is not usually for people to carry shame throughout the lives. For some people, the roots of their shame can be from their childhood, when unresolved shame becomes deep-seated and difficult to let go of, in adulthood. For others, shame can come about because of now they perceive themselves or how they may believe others perceive them.

It is not unusual for people living with shame to believe that ultimately there is something wrong with them.

Very often shame can be confused with the feeling of guilt. Guilt is usually associated with some kind of perceived wrong-doing. Shame on the other hand can be felt without any wrong-doing at all.  They can however become inextricably linked causing someone to feel depressed, anxious and lacking in confidence.

Hypnotherapy can help with uncovering and challenging the negative thinking and behavioural patterns that are sustaining these feelings of guilt and shame and using psychotherapy techniques like CBT and Ego-Strengthening, alter and change how someone is thinking and feeling about themselves.
