A  little  about  me

New Title

Hi, I’m Ronan and thank you for visiting the MindWell Clinic website.

I am trained and certified Hypnosis-Psychotherapeutic Counsellor  and provide therapy both online and in -person at my Macclesfield practice, in Cheshire. I am an Associate Member of the NSTT- National Society of Talking Therapies  and I am also registered with the CNHC-The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council, meaning I work in line with the professional standards and ethical regulations of these respective associations.

I have always had an interest in understanding the mind, having studied psychology back in Dublin, in the 90s at university. I then pursued post graduate studies in Business and found my way by accident, working in international recruitment, where I spent over 20 years working in senior management and director roles.

I established my own healthcare recruitment business almost 10 years ago which today allows me now to have a bit more freedom, to focus on the things I enjoy the most. Having completed additional postgraduate qualifications in Hypnosis and Hypnosis-Psychotherapeutic Counselling, I established the MindWell clinic to offer solution-focused and personal therapy, to those wishing to bring about change in their lives.

Like anyone who has had a busy and demanding career, I know only too well how easy it is to allow your work-life to take over, to accept a certain amount of stress and anxiety as the norm, to focus on raising a family and juggling the needs and well-being of those around you, very often at your own expense.  Perhaps, like me, its takes until you reach your 40s to begin to appreciate how quickly life goes by and that if you are not careful, you can miss out on so much along the way.

A few years ago, I made a conscious decision to re-evaluate everything about my life and more importantly gain more control on where it was going.  After loosing a very close friend to cancer, I realised that nothing is certain and indeed life can be shorter than expected. I stopped working 7 days a week, focused on becoming mentally and physically healthier and ultimately took back control in my life.  I also realised that working less wasn’t detrimental to my career, in fact it was quite the opposite.

Therapy at the start can sometimes be a little odd or uncomfortable, but from my own personal experience, with the right therapist it very quickly becomes an enlightening and positive journey, one that everyone can benefit from.

If you are reading this and wondering if therapy is the right step for you, consider this simple question.

Would I like something in my life to be different?

If the answer is ‘YES’, then therapy could be the answer.
